What is Turo?

Turo.com is a peer-to-peer marketplace for renting cars. Individual hosts, like myself, offer cars that you wouldn’t find at conventional rental agencies. Turo makes my listings more visible through their marketplace, and they handle the backend of the operation (Insurance, Damage Coverage, Payment Processing, etc.).

How does insurance work?

Turo offers $2M in liability coverage with every booking. As of December 2021, this is provided through Economical. More information can be found on Turo.com.

To protect yourself in the case of damages, Turo offers various policies to choose from. You can select based on the level of deductible that you’re comfortable with, or opt out if you are happy to take full responsibility or use your own insurance coverage.

Why OGO Auto vs other hosts or traditional rentals?

We ensure that our vehicles are clean and in great mechanical condition. We also provide excellent, responsive service and go above and beyond to make your trip as memorable and stress-free as possible. We can deliver the car to your location (if the option is chosen from your part. We do not deliver unless you specifically picked the delivery option when booking), and we have the easiest contactless dropoff system (airport and other instances may be in person). Pickup and Dropoff is available 24/7, according to your schedule.

Can I cancel my trip?

With 24 hours or more notice, you will not be charged to cancel. On shorter notice, you will be charged. You can always reschedule by clicking “Modify Trip” on the “Trip Details” page on Turo.com.

Can I have multiple drivers?

Yes! It does not cost extra to have multiple drivers, but they must be added to the trip for proper insurance coverage. To do so, you can invite the other driver(s) by email on the “Trip Details” page. They will then be prompted to create a Turo account and get verified to drive.  You can even add a driver while a trip is ongoing, but it’s best to do it early in case of delays in the approval process.

Can I book a trip for someone else?

No. The primary driver on the booking must be present for the vehicle pickup. It’s in Turo’s policy because I have to verify your identity at the start of the trip. If the primary driver is not present, it will be considered a “no show cancellation”.

Can I pickup at one location and return to another?

Yes, just initially input your arrival airport for delivery. Then, AFTER THE TRIP STARTS, Turo allows you to change the location for return.

How does delivery & drop off work?

The "delivery fee" includes delivery to your airport/location and you returning to that same location. Be sure to input your required delivery location when booking as the app defaults to our free car location. On the rental start date we will send you the process for delivery and pickup and on the rental end date we will send you the process for drop off.

Are there any other hidden fees?

What you see on the checkout page is the final total. We built our business on return customers, so we try to avoid any post-trip fees. We do this by providing very clear instructions via automated messaging at the time of booking and on the listing guidelines. If you smoke anything in our vehicles or we find ashes or weed, you will be charged $250 and banned from Turo.
